Craigslist if you're brave
Individual dealer sites. Some dont advertise on Autotrader & such.

Edmunds is good for reviews and values if you need to research along the way.

My friend just used Carmax for a 2019 Subaru Outlook and was very happy with the whole process and price.

Carfax now has cars online.

I just learned about this one from VinWiki. Haven't given it a try yet.
I believe it allows some pretty granular filters

Be careful on how many filters you use, lots of people don’t actually know what they are listing.

I know a lot of folks don't care much for Craigslist and there can be problems but I have sold a bunch of vehicles, 4 runners and the like off Craigslist and never had a problem. It's free and a lot of people read it daily, believe me.

A lot of those sites are paid by dealers to send them leads, not so for the following

AutoTrader
CommercialTruckTrader, I have my commercial trucks and non commercial, new and used trucks listed on it.

Individual dealers websites, the same prices you see on paid sites like Cars.com are what you will see on dealers websites. Pricing is pulled from the same source

I bought my wife's Caddy by searching the dealers websites, found a "special" on one unit. I can show you in black and white where the dealer lost their ass on this "loss leader" ad

These sites work best for franchised dealers and places like Carmax. If you are looking at older vehicles, FB marketplace is where I found my daughters truck

This.

By itself, it certainly is limiting in that it excludes listings for which a report is not made available by the seller and it thus mostly captures dealer listings. Also, Carfax reports aren’t perfect. But, it can help save time & money in the search process by eliminating vehicles with a history that you don’t embrace.

I tend to start with Carfax and then see what AutoTrader incrementally adds.

I wouldn’t look at Craigslist unless I was 13 and in search of a ragged-out YZ80.
