Slippery PeteTook the old girl up to the guy who sharpens outside the grocery store on the weekend. Good dude. 8 bucks for the sharpening.
Got the rust off. Oiled. Sustained 2 cuts I didn't know happened until blood hit the floor, so the guy did a good job. Also burned myself with dripping paracord.
The first attempt by me at the paracord. My plan was to do the first half of how you tie your shoes, over and over.
Wife came home and laughed at me. Did this, a metaphor for our life.
Now I have to figure out where to put it in the truck.

ruger357I’ve got a couple of those. Need to put them into service. They are big beefy knives. Always thought they were too heavy until I got my esee 5.

greyeyezzNot as nice as Para's but I ran mine pretty hard. Battoned a lot of wood, dug out a fire pit. I'm almost positive this is the Sandvik version as that's one of the reasons I bought this and that's all there was at the time.

M-11Is there a way to tell the difference between the 420HC and Sandvik 12C27 versions?

straightshooter1I've seen people trapped in a burning vehicle so I bought a Cold Steel XL Voyager 5.5" AUS10A Tanto Point Serrated Edge which is a huge folder, but pretty easy to deploy and should be good for cutting a seat belt. It rides in the console next to my right leg and there's a lanyard to grab when I reach for it.
So far the only thing I've cut with it is my finger, but I can vouch for it being sharp.

Frenchy1004Thanks for the write up, I bought a used one a few years ago and promptly bought two more new ones in black as I wanted to put them in some SHTF get home backpacks I need to assemble. They are some beefy knifes for sure.
The original is dull and I haven't been successful in getting it back into shape, but this could be an excellent role for it once I do.

wingfootI was looking on Amazon for this knife after seeing this thread and it said I had purchased this in 2009 and had forgotten I bought my son one for his deployment to Afghanistan. I texted him and asked did he still have it and he sent this picture back.
