Hit the gym last Thursday and just had to snap this pic.



Ford's baseline 4 passenger sedan has come a long long way in 100 years.

Model T, 177 CUI 4 cylinder with 20 HP and a top speed of 45 mph.

Ford Fiesta ST. 98 CUI 4 cylinder with 197 HP and a top speed of over 130 mph.

And the Model T had more legroom.

100 years later...and handicap people still can't park!

Reminds me of an old ford mechanic, retired in the 50's died in the 80's IIRC, that put the first electric starter on a car that made it the first car in the county with electric start. He worked at a ford dealership at the time and was paid on commission / per job, not by the hour. He said he got paid a flat rate of $0.50 for electrifying a new Ford car... adding a battery, generator, lights and associated wiring and switches. It was a dealer installed kit / option for Fords they sold. Don't know much about old Fords and I can't remember which model he was talking about.

Later he got promoted to transmission mechanic and made $2.50 for a trans overhaul. He said that was really really good money...

That old fart was almost completely deaf and blind and very hard to communicate with but once he got started he could sure tell some stories... he knew them old
Fords inside and out, down to every nut and bolt. A lot of knowledge was lost when he went.

Ford Performance has a 2.3 litre, 300 HP turbo 4 on their web site as a "Crate Engine". The thought of that in my FIST does set the wheels to spinning.

Actually, it probably did not. As cramped as cars are these days, I had trouble driving a Model A because my 6-foot frame was too tall for the car.

When I saw your post I didn't realize those things only had a 1.6 in it and started googling 2.0 EcoBoost swaps for a car I don't even own...

I'm up to 515mi on my Fusion Sport, man this thing is a joy to drive. I can't wait til she's broken in and I get to play with the 380 pounds of torque. Sad it takes two months to hit 500 miles. Hopefully I'll be able to drive it more by September after kitchen remodel and other projects.

Here's my new toy, I'm loving it so far, too bad they cancelled them.

My brother (who has got a lot more money and time than I) has an antique and muscle car collection. He did - and at 74 years old is still doing - almost all the work himself, only "farming out" machine shop operations and upholstery. Among them are two Model T's, a 1912 and 1926. They both run and drive. I have driven the 1926 a little bit.

It is actually rather cramped, length-wise. Your legs are actually folded up and knees splayed out, and I'm 5-10 in my shoes. Judging from some of his other cars and trucks from the 1920s, people must have been about 4½ feet tall back then.

300HP is easily doable on the 1.6 litre engine. Will need to do a turbo swap. Stock injectors are good to 320HP, or so I read.
My Mountune program -with aftermarket intercooler- ups it to 215HP/255TQ.

my Uncle has a '30 Model A, Coupe version,

he is tall (6'3"ish) and lanky, but can get in and drive (not for long,,)

at 5'7" when I get in one it is like it was built for me,

they are narrow as well,
