I got a new to me 2022 Suburban a little over a month ago. It has Apple CarPlay, which is awesome. When I connect my phone to the system through CarPlay and play music it plays through all of the speakers, as it should. Fade, balance, etc are all dead center. But when my daughter connects her phone the music only plays through the right speakers / passenger side of the truck. I have checked the settings in the Chevy system when her phone is connected. Fade, balance, etc are all still dead center. But the music only plays through the right speakers. And if I adjust the balance all the way to the left, there is essentially no sound at all, as I have now turned off the right and there is still no sound through the left. I then moved onto her phone. This happens whether she is using Spotify or Apple Music. And I spent 10 minutes checking the settings in her phone, but I am not sure I know what the heck to look for and I could not solve this issue. It's irritating as heck having the sound only come out one side, and I told her she could not play music until we figured this out. I am guessing there is a simple setting in her phone I need to change, but I do not what it is.

Seems old school but is there a stereo vs mono selection in the phone in the car play settings Also does the suburban do carplay via wifi or bluetooth. Are you both connecting in the same way. Easy thing would be to turn off wifi and see if it is still happening on blue tooth __________________________ The entire reason for the Second Amendment is not for hunting, it’s not for target shooting … it’s there so that you and I can protect our homes and our children and and our families and our lives. Did you find the balance setting on her phone? Quote: I noticed some people complaining of carplay playing sound only on right speaker only in the car .. and your answer was to clean the socket and contact apple support i had the same issue but i managed to fix it through setting /accessability/ airpods /audio accessibility settings/ then under balance take it to the middle . this totally fixed the problem and tried it on many times so i hope this help others having the same issue .. I looked for a mono / stereo setting in the phone, but I could not find one. Doesn't mean it isn't there though. We both connect through CarPlay via Bluetooth. I do not have / pay for WiFi in the car.

Cool! I found that in my phone just now. Will check hers when she gets home from school.

There should be separate settings in the truck for phone calls. Most I've played with defaulted to right front speaker only and I prefer both front speakers. Look in the menu for the phone settings on the headunit.

Very slightly related, we just got Airpod Max and only on side will work paired to my Yamaha AVR but it has no issues with both iPhones. Hope there’s a clue in this thread. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Thank you Very little |
Interesting, recently the MKC stopped doing Apple Car play, we could occasionally get it to work, you have to use a specific USB port. Changed cables, used an new official Apple cable, removed phones, reset, nothing as far as Car Play. BT works, phone etc plays through both sides of the cars speakers, cars at the dealer for an oil change and service today and we asked them to check it out. On the aftermarket JVC radio in my F150 the phone only plays through the drivers door speaker, figured that out after I couldn't hear anything and found the drivers speaker in need of replacement.

This fixed it. I checked her phone and she had three sets of iPods attached. Why? I do not know, she only owns one pair. Anyway, set number one and two were balanced left and right. Set number three, slid to the right, not all the way, but 2/3 of the way over. I slid it back to center, hopped in the car, connected and the sound was good and balanced on both sides. Thanks for the tip, cause I never would have thought to check that setting, heck I never would have found it.

Good deal, glad you found it. I can't take credit for the solution though. just happen to come across it on apple site . I have had my share of apple CarPlay issues with the 2020 subaru WRX I had, so searching out stuff like that is sorta normal for me.
