Sounds like the OP had a bad safe salesman.
Fortunately, we've got a great one in my area who everybody swears by, including me. I can't imagine a better one.

Not at all. His name's Jesse and he owns a place called Safe City. He usually has some used safes for sale as well as new ones. I highly recommend him.
