My old Lacrosse summer rubber boots

Question:
I have an old pair of summer Lacrosse rubber boots, about 30 years old. Kept mostly indoors, they seem to work normally when I use them, but I can't decide whether to pitch them now or not. I can't believe they're not showing any issues, at least that I can see, but I'm no expert.

What say you ..

Choices:
Pitch them, just do it.
Pitch them later when the bottoms fall off, whenever that is.
Just keep them and forget about it, they might outlast you the way things are going
It's a crap shoot, let me explain...
I have the same qustions about my old rubber boots, let me know what you find out

Don't pitch them, they can never be replaced. The current version of those is made in China, and are crap. Yours were made in USA, taller than regular rubber boots, much better for walking, fit well around the ankles and calfs. IMO Lacrosse made the best rubber boots ever, mine wore out and nothing I've tried since was anywhere close to being as good.

I remember probably 40 years ago reading a sports illustrative article about some Indian sending in his 16 year old pair for a brand new pair since they had a lifetime warranty at that time.

I thought that was pretty cool so that’s when I bought my first pair. Never did wear them out either.

Had a pair of Totes overshoes. Dry rotted after a few years. Currently have a pair of Mucks with a zipper. Probably 6 or 7 years old. Foot is dry rotting. If you have had those this long, they are family! Id say to ride the lightnin.

Ha ! That's the WINNER - well, if I ever play Lacrosse, I will use these rubber boots...

So now it's a contest, it's either me or them !!

I didn't know that about the old ones vs the new ones, though I DO know that my top of the line Mucks aren't all that durable for sure.

Thanks guys.

Keep 'em! My first engineering company had a pair of old Lacrosse boots that I'd wear when doing wetland evaluations and environmental work. Hiked dozens of miles over nasty terrain in those things, and I swear they were more comfortable than any hiking boots I've ever had. Still looked new when I left the company.

Amazing. A testament to superior durability of products from the past. I imagine most products today are purposely designed with limited lifetime, the shorter the better. Sad in a way.
