bendableWhen you buy a new freezer ( tip / hint)
Take your giant wad of cash out , prior to the old one being hauled off.

wreckdiverOuch, had a similar incident recently. I got paid $870.00 cash for a job as I left, tucked it under my crotch as I left the job in my van.
Got to the next job, a water heater install in the city. To make things easier, I backed up to the porch in the front lawn. Tenant sitting on porch having a smoke.
Went about doing my thing, tenant disappeared. Opened the driver's door to grab something and saw my wad of cash on the step "oh shit moment"
Counted it and was $90 short, looked everywhere, not to be found. Asked the tenant that was sitting on the porch when I arrived, Nope haven't seen it, I haven't been outside.
My thought was "You dumb bitch, you were sitting on the porch , smoking when I got here"
Kept my mouth shut, chalked it up to a learning experience, promising myself to never put cash under my nuts while in the van again!!!!!

ZSMICHAELHope she gets her money back. Sounds like a true story. Multiple sclerosis can cause cognitive difficulties. This sort of thing happens more often than folks realize.

VoshterkoffProbably just me, but her immediately jumping to the "what if rapists or pedophiles" makes this stink.

phil in indySaw this yesterday on the tv. My first thought was who the hell puts money in their freezer? Next thought was don't you normally pull everything out of your freezer before you have it hauled away?

sigfreundPeople hide cash in all sorts of places. In fact, if someone thinks, “Who would put money in a freezer?” that simply validates the whole process. Hopefully the burglars will think the same thing, “Who would put money in a freezer?” and not find the money in the freezer.

selogicMy late mother in law hid a bag of silver dollars in her air conditioner return . Yep , sold the house and moved . Remembered it much later . Well over a year . The first time the new owner did a filter change it was right there , never heard from them ...

bendableAn auctioneer in Iowa contacted the purchaser of an upright 52 inch piano , about three months after the auction.
Seems that the seller's son , got a hold of him about his mom's money .
His mom did not drive, so it was easier to stash her baby sitting earnings inside the piano
The buyer of the piano paid $600.00 for the 15 y.o. piano , He let the auctioneer come in to look through the piano .
He found no trace of the $33,000.00 .
The son found a notebook while looking for the family cookbook , it had all the dates and names and entries for every penny .

$90 is cheap compared to what you kept. Be thankful.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
