OK, so my AC was starting to blow hot air but given that its been 120 and the Civic never really had a stellar AC system I pretty much ignored it for a week.

I finally looked today and check compressor, yup, spinning and kicking on and off. Check refrigerant level next with friend gauge, all good! Then I notice condenser fan is not spinning....crap! I check relays and fuses, all good, checked connections, same....finally out of sheer anger I whacked fan with end of screwdriver and it started working but will not turn on upon restart unless I git it again.

I am assuming i have a bad motor but before I spend the money o dont really want to spend I figured I'd ask if anyway knew of anything else to try as I suck at all things electrical.

Sounds like it is the motor. I replaced mine with two different aftermarket fans and they were junk.

I have learned my lesson on several parts to stick with oem when it comes to Honda. I don't seem to have the same issues with generic parts for the Chevys.

On my model it was possible to just replace the motor not the whole fan shroud assembly.

TYC makes good aftermarket replacement fans and cooling system parts. Very common civic failure and super easy to replace. Do it ASAP as running the compressor hot like that will cause Black death (nick name for honda compressor failure) where the guts of the compressor contaminate the entire a/c system.

There will be whores, tits and sex.

It looks like Amazon has the TYC for 47.00, do you know if I need to remove upper core support or is it as simple as un doing top 2 bolts and swapping out?

I had to replace mine.
REPLACE that fan! Without it, sitting still the car WILL over heat and warp the head!
One fan won't get it! I cooked my CR-V engine over a bad fan.

This is my AC condenser fan, cooling fan is working great...I am ordering new one today and until then will have to keep smacking current one with hammer to keep it going

When the fan quit on my wife's car it probably went a little long before being replaced.
The fan not working and the high head pressure put a bit of wear on the ac clutch. I ended up having to also take a shim out of the clutch because it started slipping a little as well.

Worked fine after that.

You can rig some jumper wires (I use a Power Probe) to power the fan directly off the battery. It will run in either direction, so polarity doesn't matter for a quick test. If it doesn't run even then, the motor is bad.

I had 1 working fan also, but the car overheated still and cooked a freshly rebuilt engine.
3 month old engine!
