The absolute worst car I ever owned was a Cadillac. Can't afford this new one so I would never get buyers remorse.

But that's just it with most American manufacturers today. They might be able to sling together a neat design for an auto show, but when it comes time to mass produce it, the entire process completely falls apart. It was announced last week The little Ford Maverick truck I thought had some real potential will undergo a recall of some 100k units to have the airbags replaced. Cars have become too complex for manufacturers to be able to successfully produce them anymore.

That's a dealer add-on to be discussed along with the extended warranty and Scotchguard.

.38supersigNeil Diamond? How about just his record and guitar collection?

What do you get when you cross a CTX with a Citroën? Don't know, but now it takes longer than four hours to change the headlight bulb.

True, although at one time many many moons ago, Cadillac was the epitome of custom luxury, anyone that was anyone bought a Cadillac, truly the standard of the world. then we decided that Foreign vehicles were the status symbol,
There was a time when we had a V16 Cadillac , a Duesenberg, Auburn, Marmon, great depression hit that market.
Would be nice to see some of that return to the USA...
Funny you should say that. When I bought a BMW my parents didn't have much to say about it. Now I have a Cadillac and my parents constantly comment and want me to drive. They're in thier 80s, I figure it's a generational thing.

Re the Aztec reference:
I have know lots of Aztec owners, including my sister and my daughter, and everyone of them loved the vehicles. Most of them drove them for years, mostly trouble free!
Only complaint was the "looks" early in ownership then pure satisfaction in short order.

Interesting enough Mecum Monterey is on TV today and there are several Cadillac 16's selling, as well as a collection of 4 Marmons, out of a total 5 known to exist....

And if they're what I think they are, they're selling prices will be in the seven figures range...each. Automotive art and history is sought after and collectible (i.e. special). This electric nothing from GM is just that...nothing but a hunk of metal and plastic that is completely forgetable.

I know a few Aztec owners that got in at the beginning and reliability was a joke. One friend memorized the Lemon Law and as soon as his car broke for the third time for the same thing, he was lawyering up against the dealer, but it was always another problem.
The later ones were fine, and like you said, my Aunt loved hers.
Still not sure how GM is going to justify Rolls-Royce money for something they build. Even Mercedes had problems convincing people to buy a Maybach instead of a Rolls or a Bentley.

Scooter123IMO anyone who pays 300K for a car that will be parked in a Dead Battery Field somewhere in 10 years is a MORON.

Chief engineer Tony Roma remarked that it's a "fantastic problem to have."
Cadillac's incredible Celestiq range-topper is already sold out for the next 18 months, according to GM executives.
In an interview with Autoline Network, Cadillac chief engineer Tony Roma said, "we already have quite a few hand raisers. Many, many more than we're going to be able to build in the first year or 18 months. We're going through the process of who is the right person to have it and who is the right person for the brand," he explained.
"It's a fantastic problem to have that we've [garnered] so much interest."

vinnybassCadillac has made some good looking rides over the years.
This ain't one of them.
In my opinion the XLR was the last cool Cadillac made.

And just about every piece of glass being >$1k
According to my college roommate who worked for a local glass company for a while & had one come in with every piece of glass broken by a jilted partner.
