BurtonRWPaging ASG... Airsoft question inside.
ASG,
My paralegal wants to buy an Airsoft pistol for her 11 year old son.
I’m concerned that the KJW M9 she’s eyeballing is going to be too big for his hands.
What do you think? Any advice is welcome.
Thanks.

GibbNot ASG guy here, but my kid could shoot my Beretta M9 at 12, so the airsoft version wouldn't have been an issue. The KJW models are pretty close to 1:1.
It really depends on the size of the kid.
My kid ended up with a 1911 pattern airsoft, just our off preference. The recoil on these "blowback" gives are still way less than a .22 gun in case that was a concern.

RHINOWSOMy son used a KJW 1911 but used others kids M9 with no issues at that age. They are close to 1:1 but not exactly.
If the kid is small, a 1911 might be a better call - they typically have the same number of rounds of airsoft BBs, so it's a non issue really.

SuppressedIs he going to use it for organized matches at airsoft parks or is it just for plinking? If he is going to use it in matches, most of the kids use M4 type airsoft rifles. My son uses a KRISS Vector.
