Pics in article.

“A photographer has taken the world's clearest pictures of the moon's craters by combining multiple shots of the lunar line where light meets dark.

Californian-based astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy stacked thousands of pictures together over lunar phases to show the moon's surface in all its glory.

The lunar enthusiast took two weeks' worth of frames of the waxing moon – as the amount of illuminated surface seen from Earth increases.”

Holy cow that is stunning.

I remember the first time looking at the moon through an 8" telescope. I could not believe how much detail was there. It was incredible.

Words can't describe how impressed I am. I have no understanding of how he accomplished this work of art but it is truly a thing of beauty

Beautiful pictures.

Am I the only one wondering why a guy in his backyard can get such a clear shot of the moon but NASA using one of our super high tech telescopes never has. They should be able to get such a closeup shot that you should be able to see the moon buggy that was left behind.
