It’s not like I don’t have enough reasons already.
I went to buy a new gun today. I was going to get the 22LR companion to my Walther PPQ 9mm. What a great way to practice the fundamentals at a fraction of the cost of 9mm right? Wrong! The nice lady at the gun store said she couldn’t order that for me because it contains an alloy (zinc) that melts below 800°. I thought she was pulling my leg. She wasn’t.

I don’t understand. There are no .22lr pistols in Hellinois, then? What exactly is it that is not legal?

Any chance this is a Guns made with Zinc = Pot Metal Guns = Saturday Night Specials...And since criminals like cheap Guns, therefore, it must be BANNED to, you know, Protect the Children? If it Saves one Life...

That is the idea, or at least how they frame it. Can't have the poors arming themselves with affordable weapons.
