mr kablammoWhere Are the Best Dino Tracks Near Austin, TX?
Where are the best dinosaur tracks within about a four hour drive of Austin TX? We found some parks but...
My wife wants to see dinosaur tracks this week. She insisted that I must consult the Brain Trust of SF for the best tracks.

Mustang-PaPa^^^^ Dinosaur Valley State Park is local to me and is really good. The good tracks are mostly under water so be prepared to do a little wading.
If you get to Glenrose, Tx also consider Fossil Rim Wildlife Park. Its more of a drive through type deal with stops along the way.

sigspecopsI've been to Glen Rose many times. It's definitely your best bet. Be prepared to take your shoes off or bring some wading boots. It shouldn't be too crowded this time of year.
The park was private property years ago and unfortunately, a lot of the tracks were destroyed or removed but there's enough left to make it worth your time though. Its pretty cool to touch the spot where a dinosaur put his foot down.
