That should be an easy claim for hearing loss tinnitus, start that process before yo need the hearing aids..[/QUOTE]

Well, I have a set that my insurance paid for before I retired. I don't know if I'll ever need another set, because I hardly ever wear these.

My appointment was cancelled 3 days before it was due, and they gave me an appointment for yesterday. I will have my new hearing aids 12/21/23. All in all I was pleased with the exam, no pressure to buy one brand over the other, I chose the Jabra behind the ear, $1600 out the door.

I am currently thinking about replacing my seven year old hearing aids, so I'm looking for personal experience / information.

Why did you choose Jabra, as opposed to the other two brands offered by Costco?

Because when people are "jabbering" I want to hear them!
Seriously, I just liked the name, and the fact that they looked like my old Phonak aids.

I just replaced mine, they were the same vintage as yours. I went for the Phillips. They were $1500 OTD rechargeable, so no more batteries to worry about. Blutooth compatible too, if you want to take calls or listen to audio from your phone. I don't, but I know many others do. Nice to have the option.

Mine (Rexton) have that option as well, but I don't use it. I can hear my phone just fine and like normal by holding it up to my ear.

I went with the Phillips, had them about 6 months now and no complaints. Our original ones (2018 vinatage) were the Resound brand (which was bought by and is now the Jabra brand). Were happy with them but the Phillips offered a hi-fi setting for streaming and or listening to music which greatly improves the sounds quality when used. Jabra doesn’t have that “mode”.

Price actually went down $100 about a notch after we got them, Costco refunded the price difference.

I love the ability to stream from my phone - I use it when riding my bicycle, Hi-fi audio without earbuds or headset.

One thing to note, if you want a battery equipped charging case - Rextn model includes one and it is an add on charge for Phillips. Standard Phillips charger is USB though, so you can just charge of a power bank if you need to charge on the go.

My hearing aids are from Costco. It has been a while since I bought them, but they are working very well, and it costs nothing to have them cleaned and adjusted.

I know I need them but have little faith in the process. Reminds me of car sales people, I have no faith in them.

I have Oticon hearing aids. My old employer offered Blue Cross Health insurance and they covered everything. They come with a 4 year warranty and with Blue Cross, you’re eligible for a new pair ever 3 years.
