Otto,
Glad to read that you have arrived in Kenosha safely.
I recommend that you go to Ron's Place and enjoy an Original 5X5!

Before I was Mark in Michigan, I lived in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie. I worked for American Motors at the Engine Plant. It's an empty field now between 52nd St and 60th St east of 30th Ave.

I hope your assignment at Great Lakes is everything you want it to be.

Best regards,
Mark in Michigan

You’ll be wanting to familiarize yourself with both Kwik Trip and Fleet Farm.

Kwik Trip right by the hotel, it’s crazy, they got every food imaginable in there, great for us here at the hotel with a mini fridge.

I’ve heard of fleet farm, isn’t that kinda like a tractor supply?

For anyone who has been to Tenuta’s I am thoroughly impressed. That place is a gold mine for good Italian food. Nice cheese selection and a really good deli, about 6 different cured hams to choose from. I’ll definitely be eating some Serrano ham and cheese on my evenings off.

There’s probably closer stores to you, but I bought my first Trek from Wheel & Sprocket in Hales Corners and my Bianchi from The Patio Bike Shop also in Hales Corners. That was so long ago though that my Trek was handbuilt in Waterloo, WI. Both shops may have changed a bit since then.

For live music, check out Summerfest next year.

And find yourself a good all you can eat Friday night fish fry.

Did Brewmaster's ever re-open?
It was a restaurant with a micro brewery in it that had 2 locations. I think there was a fire at the one location after I left and then the other location was closed. The food and beers were awesome!

They made an Oatmeal Stout that is still one of the top 5 beers I have ever had.

Welcome to the "Cheese" state.

30 minutes at the DMV? Right that down. In Madison, 1 1/2 hours is a good day.

Fleet Farm, the man mall. You will never need Cabelas/Bass Pro, Tractor Supply or Ace Harware.

Honestly Kwik Trip daily, Fleet Farm twice a month and figure out which grocery store you like Woodmans seems to be popular, but I’m not sure I’ve seen one near Milwaukee.

Don’t sleep on Casey’s for Pizza. When you start looking for scenery SW Wisconsin is a close treat New Glarus, Monroe, Platteville area for fall colors etc. HWY 35 the Great River Road is pretty nice too.
