What I'd like to be able to do is specify a geographic area and only get listings in that area.

IE, a rough square with corners at Augusta, Waterville, Belfast and Rockland, Maine. Show me any properties inside that square.

Also be nice to specify acreage.

Not for me, Grandson wants to move back up here from North Carolina in a year or two.

I believe realtor.com allows you to 'draw' on a map & get results & further specify on property specifics..

Edit: Just checked & it's not realtor.com

It may have been HAR.com, which is the Houston Association of Realtors; which is unlikely to be helpful in Maine...

We used Zillow when doinng our property search a couple of years ago. I have no idea how much it has been “improved” since.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Zillow does it as well. Put in your zip code and it will search for properties within the lined border. When you click and drag on the map, you should see a "click to view all homes" pop up. Click on the map, the border will go away, and you can zoom in and out while dragging around.

Hotpads.com allows you to list the number of bedroom, baths, etc and the comes up with a list of homes or condos shown on the map.
