I was just going to post this! Very funny. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

Well, the perp was compliant once his vehicle was pit maneuvered. Lots of others would have ran.

I am going to say something that may sound unpopular if I don't make my position extremely clear. First, that kid was absolutely wrong. He was reckless; he hit people with his car and it looks like he may have actually run over at least one person (lower extremities). It is fortunate that he did not kill anyone, and I hope he gets hit hard in the court room. Second, given our present environment, I am glad that it was a white cop taking down a white criminal, and I am glad that it was witnessed and recorded by black people. And, like everyone here, I applaud this officer and I marvel at his tremendous action from beginning to end. Yes, he deserves special recognition. Here's what might be the controversial part. That video makes it appear that a "street takeover" was in progress. All the people standing across the intersection were not moving. IF this was what it appeared to be, I understand the frustration and the impulse. Street takeovers can cause people to be late for work, late for appointments, and, worse, can hold up first responders and medical professionals, potentially causing others to lose their lives. The kid took law into his own hands, and he was wrong, wrong, wrong, but this is an absolutely natural, and expected, outcome to what is essentially a practice of anarchy that spits on the rights and well-being of other human beings, and is left unchecked by law enforcement and government leaders. If this was not a street takeover, then I prefer my crow to be lightly breaded and pan sauteed. .

Now confiscate his truck, and bill the idiot for damage to the police car. This shit continues until there are actual repercussions.

The TJ Hooker clip shows how much that program borrowed from Dirty Harry films. Love those Revolvers! ... stirred anti-clockwise.

What? You did see him doing donuts in the middle of the intersection, right? What ever was going on, I assumed this guy was a part of it, not a victim of it.

It was absolutely a "street takeover" or the vernacular as I knew of them, "sideshows". These originated in the Bay Area in the late 1980s in parking lots and quickly moved to street intersections and yes, freeways. The demographics never changed- ghetto hispanic and black hood rats, usually using stolen cars to thrash on the streets. I had not considered that he might have been part of the event. You could very well be right about that. What I saw was a white kid in a pick-up truck at a takeover event that appeared to be all, or almost all, black. I was looking at appearances only, thinking about current/recent events, and I could have misjudged. You make a good point. Either way, the kid apparently has s--t for brains. .

Thanks, oddball. Between you and Paten, I believe I may have read that video wrong. The kid may have been joining the riot, rather than showing frustration. .

I have a Niece who is married to a Marietta Cop and he just LOVES to use the pit on someone trying to flee. At one point he was assigned the Police Edition SHO Taurus and with it's special power enhancements and 4WD there was almost nothing faster in a 60-100 mph sprint. Last I heard he's now using a Charger and it's fast but it just doesn't have the surge that Taurus had. I've stopped counting.
