Is there an On Demand feature for DirecTV Now streaming, or do you just get the live channel.
Boys only watch a few shows they want to watch Paw Patrol can we watch on Demand or do we have to wait?

It has a DVR & VERY limited on-demand.

I just searched & there was 1 episode of paw patrol listed. Not sure if you watched it what would happen, maybe it would show 1 more? I just used the app on my phone, not near a tv right now.

Personally, the UI for DTVnow sucks. We've had it for about a month & liked sling much better, but they lost univision. I'm probably going back to satellite.

I wouldn't call the DVR reliable either.

You do get login credentials that work for a lot of channel's own apps. That's how you get most on demand content it seems. Things like HBOGo if you add that channel.

Same apps as with th Satelite Service??

Nick Jr and Disney Now are all that really matter.

Those apps are listed but I have not used them. They had authentication server errors all last week due to an upgrade but the ones I do use seem to be working now. Should be the same apps as Satellite but you will have to select DirectTV Now as the provider, not DirectTV. I think you can get a trial run.

Just tried the Disney Now via its website. It worked with my DirectTV Now login. I was forced to watch 3 ads though.

As noted, it's spotty, and the DVR is in beta. I will say, it seems like stuff I've recorded on the DVR, when it initially has problems with playback, will usually get corrected over the course of hours. For example, more than once a show wouldn't play from beginning to end right after it was recorded, but the next day it was fine.

Also worthy of note, for the last few weeks my DirectTV on my Apple TV has been unreliable. It will often go to a black screen randomly, and I have to hit the Menu button on the remote and return to the program. The video has also frozen several times. I've made sure the device is up to date, and restarted it. I guess next I'll uninstall/reinstall the DirectTV app.

Thanks. Sounds like I’ll hold off awhile before I start spending $25 a month.

Do the $10/mo for 3 month trial. After 3 months, buy a prepaid $30 credit card & open a new email address & sign up for the trial again. Repeat as needed for $10/mo "cable TV".

Good luck with that. Minimum package price was just raised to $40. Frown Follow kz1000's advice, if the $10/month trial is still available.

I probably would enjoy it a lot more if I could figure out how to work the damn AppleTV remote and DirectTV interface. I got it free by paying for a few months of the service.
