I think it is simpler than that. She picks and chooses what part of Islam/Middle Eastern culture suits her. She doesn't like the anti-woman stuff.
She sure let that anti-semitism flag fly, though. There was a time that would have been a death-knell in Democratic politics. Maybe Jesse Jackson changed that.
