drop and give me 20 pushups |
Hold my beer....True story...This afternoon while doing some turkey day shopping at a local grocery store pushing a buggy that I had a frozen turkey / spirial cut ham / and a bunch of the side dish fixings I was approached by a gentleman (approx 45ys old ?) and asked me if I was a veteran because I was wearing a Army veteran baseball cap... Replied that I wasn"t wearing it for my good looks but had worn the uniform for 9 1/2 yrs.. He tried to hand me a $100 bill to pay for our Thanksgiving meal... Caught me by total suprise but I thanked him but would have to decline the offer but if he was so enclined that he could donate the money to someone else who might need the money more than I did...He said that he would do so....... Sometimes people out of the blue can suprise you. Yes let us remember the true meaning for this Thanksgiving holiday as well as next month when Christmas season arrives and it is not just to make tha cash registers to go ca-ching............................. drill sgt. This message has been edited. That’s nice. And $100 says he meant it. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946. | |||
