old rugged crossgetting ready to cook some moose steaks
a friend gave me some. thinking of putting on bbq in foil with some onions and mushrooms. slow cookimg on the bbq.
going to have in about an hour.
Any suggestions to do otherwise?

MNSIGI shot a moose in Newfoundland a few decades ago. It tasted best when marinated overnight. Without that, it had a distinct spruce/cedar flavor. You could even smell it when cooking.

old rugged crossIt is in the oven in foil with some onion. Smells great to this point.
Another friend gave me some several years ago. Was delicious. Looked incredible going into the oven.

old rugged crossIn case anyone was curious how they turned out. .
They were good. The onion was good too. Wife thought it was a bit tough. I did not think it was tough. Not NY steak tender for sure.
No game taste at all.
The dogs and cats loved the tidbits.
I have some left. Not sure how I will have that.
Friend also gave us some wieners with cheddar cheese in them
