With the weather getting better my thoughts turn to getting back out to the gun range.I have been researching shooting products to help make range time more productive, one of those products is a Chronograph.
I don't need a real elaborate/expensive one, just something to help with load development ( rifle and handgun).
I have circled in on a couple units made by Caldwell.
One is a Ballistic Precision G2 and the other a Ballistic Precision.
Any first hand knowledge or suggestions on these units or another unit in the same price range?

I just got a g2 and i really like it.
The app work great and out of 100 it missed one but i think it was me not knowing exactly how to work the app.
....... I do shoot indoors... ...
I had an extension cord to the unit the whole time so battery time wasn't tested.
I'd say a battery back up would be a great thing to have. Most jumpers have a usb plug .
A longer mini usb to usb also a plus to have.

The tripod that can with mine is top heavy with the unit on it. Again i was inside. It has a hook for a string and stake if you buy one.

I've looked for better explanations for the app but i guess it's pretty easy and no one needs them.

I’m on my second Competition electronics pro.
The first didn’t like the Lapua 120L traveling at 2650fps.
Lesson learned- bitter cold, running out of daylight, bench covered with a foot of snow and ice, don’t even try to test ammo.

Another vote for the ProChrono. I've had mine for years and it's always worked flawless no matter what I shoot at it. Smile

Luckily for me it's not a choice I have to make. My gun club has two LabRadar units.
