not particularly worried

they can spin their wheels on anything they want

won't pass the senate and not likely signed by President Trump

so they can play with themselves all day trying to look important, but they're impotent except for being obstructionists

She was rewarded that position for voting for Pelosi for speaker of the house. AOCM had a choice if you don’t vote for Pelosi you will be assigned to no position or monitoring the humane treatment of animals at meat processing plants.

I just can't stop shaking my head that this ignorant fuckwit commie not only got elected but has a committee position. Just when I thought it couldn't be possible for Pelosi to do something even more stupid than her past failures.

I think I'll just have another beer and watch the fur fly when the Dims realize that she wants to trash their system too. Che Guevara on the Finance Committee...whodathunkit?

Ocasio Cortez is in many ways to the Dems what Trump is to the Republicans. She's an outsider with a lot of popular support (and make no mistake, she does), who the party insiders never wanted (they'd much rather have kept Crowley, the 20 year incumbent she beat), who won't stay with the existing playbook. As left as they are, she's pushing them further left.

It’s disturbing, but I believe there may be a silver lining to the clouds. Absolutely Occluded Cortex is at least helping to expose the true leftist/socialist agendas. One of the things that is noted in many histories of the National Socialists (Nazis) in Germany was the widespread belief that Hitler and his followers weren’t serious: “Oh, he can’t really mean all that. Once they come to power they’ll have to moderate their positions on many things.” That attitude is very common, and I’ve been prey to it myself, most recently in 2016. (Knowing what I know now wouldn’t have changed my vote, but I wouldn’t have thought, “Oh, he can’t be serious about that.”)

It’s important, therefore, that people recognize when they are serious, and exactly what their grand theories would mean in practice. For many people of course the specifics would be just what they think they want and therefore exposing the sausage ingredients would have no effect on their willingness to gobble them down. For others who have been accustomed to thinking about only the theories and not what they would actually involve, however, having someone like OC spell them out can’t hurt, IMO.

And for once I’m happy the BS media is so clueless about what they’re helping to impose on the nation. Without them and their ceaseless coverage of Occluded Cortex she would be nothing more than obscure footnote on the political scene.

Will all that be enough to turn back the tide? I don’t know. I’m not optimistic based on what has happened around the world for the last century, but it might. It might convince enough of the rest of us to stop thinking, “Oh, they can’t really mean all that,” and to start fighting back, and it’s much easier to refute specifics than it is to refute vague visions of utopias.

Let's see- President Trump is a seasoned businessman and a billionaire who- in addition to all his other triumphs- has achieved the highest office in the land. He's doing his best to expose the lies and corruption in D.C.

On the other hand, what's-her-name is a know-nothing junior congressman who thinks the three branches of American government are Huey, Dewey and Louie and thinks the Constitution is what happens to you when you don't have enough fiber in your diet.

So, no.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but still, no.

... a colleague of mine asked what would Ocasio-Cortez know about legal ramifications?

I could only think that she has been admitted to the 'bar', she knows it all.

Ocasio-Cortez didn't make a path to the Ways and Means - that's for the uber members.

Would Ocasio-Cortez think something different of the expectations on that committee?

Waiting for her first junket excursion on the taxpayers' dime.

Now where would she go? Anyone? Venezuela? A weekend with Bernie?

He was a neophyte politician who no one in the Republican establishment wanted (but who a lot of the voting base adored.) He ran a non-standard, insurgent campaign against a bunch of party insiders, and won. Sound familiar?

Maybe the only reason people like this have a voice is because we give them one? Her face and everything that comes out of her mouth goes straight to conservative media sites and fox news. The left wasnt really paying much attention to her until we all hated her enough to talk about it non-stop. Its the same thing with David Hogg. The left doesnt care about people like that. They only use them because of how much we hate them and foward everything they say. They are agitators and media goons, thats it. I swear these people only show up because the left knows we cant help ourselves with obsessively talking about them. Ocasio-Cortez is a political featherweight that isnt worth the trouble. She loves all the negative attention, so if you really wanna fuck with her then just ignore her. Thats my plan anyways Wink

Man, come on. It's not even close. She snuck in through a Primary where practically no one in her district voted. Once she was the Primary candidate, she could've walked around town 24/7 with a dildo hanging out of her mouth and still would've been elected in the general in that district. What she accomplished is nowhere near on the level of Donald J. Trump.
