Christ-like figure appears in clouds over Argentina sparking religious frenzy

By Danny De Vaal
15th May 2019, 6:33 pmUpdated: 16th May 2019, 8:14 am

THIS amateur photographer’s prayers were answered when she snapped this perfectly-timed picture of what appears to be Jesus Christ with his arms out.

Monica Aramayo was in San Salvador de Jujuy in Argentina when she noticed the holy figure shining through the thick clouds.

The picture which has since gone viral also appeared to show “Jesus” wearing a crown.

Social media user Mariela Romano said: “The Lord will soon come for us all and we should be ready.

While another said: “Thanks for the image that allows us to keep on our path and have a better hope for tomorrow.”

But others were not able to see the illusion in the clouds.

The image has since viral and some have compared it to the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil overlooking the city.

Romina Salinas said: “I personally only see the sun coming through the clouds, but people see what they want to see."

It comes after we revealed a bloke from Kent claims to have seen the face of Jesus in his CURTAINS.

I mean, I always thought that appearing on someones toast or blueberry muffin is impressive enough.

Well, I haven't seen it.
Am I excluded from the "everyone" club?
Could be. I have always been sort of an asshole
(look at the username).
Then, again,
it could just be a "local phenomenon".

It's hardwired in us to seek out familiar shapes in the patterns in nature. Perfectly natural, perfecty understandable. One of my first memories is my parents waking me from sleep one night. They brought me into the living room. All was dark but for the blue-green glow from the television. My father perched me on his knee. They wanted me to see a news story about a woman who saw an image of Jesus in a screen door. Laugh if you wish. It's a cherished memory for me.
These stories are not uncommmon. Seeing Jesus in a piece of toast, etc. A few years back, it was the Virgin Mary appearing in the iridescent hues of a freshly washed window in some steel and glass office building. The human mind seeks out these patterns. It's hardwired into your brain and you use this mechanism each and every time you open your eyes. In computer terms, this is a service running in the background of your brain.

My only concern in this instance is if the photographer manipulated the image in Photoshop.

Those of us who believe in Jesus, and therefore the possibility of a beautiful afterlife in eternity- these people- of whom I am not one- these people are the lucky ones among us. They are the lucky ones because they believe in a continuation of our consciousness after death, and they believe in reunion with loved ones, and they believe in eternal bliss. They are fortunate to have these concepts to hold on to- even if these things are not true.

I have only contempt for people who laugh at Christians and their silly beliefs and ridiculous superstitions.

Para,
This right here. More people in this world need to be like this. I’m not entirely certain how to put it in words, but I definitely respect you and your opinion.
You don’t believe but have the back of anyone who does. You’re good brother. Keep up the good work!

Pareidolia. An adaptation for humans, through evolution, that allows us to find a face that would be invisible to any other animal. Pretty cool stuff.

Could He appear in the clouds like this, sure. That is my belief. did someone photoshop it? probably.

My belief in my savior is a lot stronger than this image.

The question is why would He appear like this, and was it meant for a group in Argentina etc. He would only do it if it served His purpose, whether I understand that purpose or not.

So, I hope the image serves its purpose as He intended, even it if was for us to have this conversation right here Wink

Don't misunderstand me. Whether or not that image has been manipulated, and whether or not Jesus rose after three days and ascended to Heaven, that ain't Jesus you're seeing. It's either a naturally-occuring optical illusion, or it's Photoshop. I'd vote for the optical illusion.

Your brain is comparing the image it is seeing with the catalog of known shapes your mind holds (and the objects these shapes represent), and it's coming up with Jesus. Your brain is doing the very same kind of thing right now as you read my words on the page. Otherwise, these words would appear to be just chicken scratch; meaningless shapes that seem to follow some sort of pattern that you cannot discern.

Yeah - I think that Jesus coming back would be an event that could have no other interpretation.

It would have to be so obvious and astounding that no one could ever doubt what happened. I don't think anyone would need to see a photo of it. We would just all "know" it happened...

If it isn't that obvious - it ain't Jesus.

I agree. I don't need to see that. I believe and know Him by faith. Ephesians 2:8,9 I have encountered angels on the street(men) and they didn't have wings. Those (all)who are on earth at the second coming of Jesus will literally see him in his Glory when He breaks through the sky whether it's day or night.

I am agnostic. I just don't know. If a religion makes someones life better and gives them comfort, by all means they should follow that path. I will be the last one to give them a hard time because of my ignorance of their situation. I do believe that picture was photo shopped.
