We are once again headed to Sandbridge, VA instead of OCNJ for our annual vacation at the end of August into September, I usually do surf fishing on the beach but this year I wanted to try something different.

What are my options for freshwater fishing or Back Bay fishing in that area? Anyone from that area able to give me some ideas?

Can't comment on the fishing but we go to Sandbridge at least once a year. Bump for your question.

You can try Stumpy Lake and Northwest River Park, Great Dismal Swamp, Lake Drummond. I know there are others but I am not really a big freshwater fisherman. God Bless !!!
