Warning,
The contents of this post may cause nightmares.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new...ns-spider-bites.htmlA woman from Tennessee has been rushed to the ER with dozens of bites over her body, the result of an infestation of brown recluse spiders in her apartment.
Angela Wright of Brentwood, Tennessee, has been monitoring the spiders in her apartment for weeks and constantly begs her building management to do something about the problem. To add - Are you kidding me? "Monitoring the spiders in her apartment"? Maybe from a remote location via a camera! LOL

Do cats eat spiders? Seriously? I may need a cat.

Cats eat spiders. To them, it's a crabfest.

egregoreIf there is an infestation of spiders, what is the
primary infestation? They wouldn't be there if there weren't food.

nshumwayThe internet says the brown recluse eats crawling bugs- that must me a nice place to live if there is that much spider food.

justjoeA friend of mine was bitten by a brown recluse and almost lost his arm. They are very nasty spiders, and very ordinary looking.

They make up for their average looks by being unusually fast.

Haveme1or2What there is no Raid in the stores ?
Or was this one of those that catch them to be released back out in the wild..

rburgNuke them from orbit. Its the only way to be sure. As for hiring exterminators, what do you have against those poor guys? Why so many of the same species? Do they eat other spiders to clear the practice field for themselves? I've never knowingly see a brown recluse. Not that I've studied spiders all that much. I don't even like looking at them. Is there a species specific killer? Does Raid or other such stuff kill them or their prey, making it advisable for the infestation to move right along?

Brown recluses are notoriously hard to kill. Most common insect poisons don't phase them at all, and pest control companies won't offer any kind of guarantee on killing them. Cypermetherin is about the only thing that kills them. To really get them, you have to take your switch plates off and put the poison in the walls as well as around the perimeter of the house. I'm in Middle Tennessee as well, and many houses around here are infested with them. I had an infestation myself about 5 years ago. I trapped hundreds of them in sticky traps, and they're cannibalistic so if you leave the traps out with the recluses in them it acts like bait and others will come running and get stuck themselves. I have 8 stuck in the trap at my office as we speak

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in." July 09, 2018, 10:15 AM

LOL Reminds me of the military saying:
If it moves, salute it.
If it doesn't, pick it up.
If you can't pick it up, paint it.
So cats:
If it moves, kill it.
If it doesn't, knock it off.
If you can't knock it off, lay on it.
I pay the bug man good money and I have no bug problems. And I do my best to deny bugs food.
