Great pics an info gang. I never much thought about the stance/backache issue. Time to go push them around and test. Didn't even know Kawasaki put engines on mowers. I love learning new stuff on here! Thanks everyone.

Love my 4 year old Toro. Started on the first pull this afternoon as it often does. If you have the cash - blow it on a Honda.

Bought a Honda in 1989. I've mowed lawns at three houses and my daughter is using it at hers. Hondas just keep n going.

This. For any mower you own.

I've got a Husqvarna self propelled 21" w/ 160cc Honda engine. About $350 and I've had mine for about 5 trouble free years. If I was buying another now I'd get the Honda HRX w the 190cc engine.

18 yo Toro Personal Pace here. With the B&S engine. Still starts on the first pull.

I finally replaced the drive wheels last Summer. They were worn slick.

Drive mechanism still works fine.

Should not bag the clippings its better to leave them on your lawn. Get yourself a good mulching mower. Brand?

Go with the Honda. The Briggs it replaced is not in the same league as far as power and performance.

16 year old Honda from Home Depot, cheapest one they had.
Pro's : little girls can start it, never so much as a minutes grief from motor, deck, or bagger. Starts within a couple pulls each spring.

Con's : stooped over to operate, drive is pretty slow, drive is now very weak.

It has never had alcohol fuel, and about every tank has been Stabil treated. New oil every year, a plug every five or so, and air filter as needed.

That Ariens looks very interesting to me.

Another Honda fan here. Mine is 4 yrs old and is flawless. I bought it at a Honda dealer and they threw in 5 years of free annual service. At $375 it is turning out to be great investment.

I have had Honda mowers and they are very good. I also had a Toro Super Recycler which was also good. The Toro made better stripes in the lawn if you care about such things. I recently bought an Ego cordless mower with the steel deck. I like it so far. It is lightweight yet powerful enough to get the job done. I have only cut the lawn about three times, so I can't offer a comprehensive opinion on durability.

HRR216VKA Honda mower bought over the internet.

paid about $350.00 3/4 years ago.

Runs like a champ for areas my zero turn (50" deck) mower is too big for.

Previous self propelled 18 yr. old Honda mower was still running when I gave it away to a buddy.

Honda.

My is about 12 years old and runs as good as the day I bought it. Regular maintenance and blade sharpening is all that it has needed to keep running.

The lawn area that I cut is probably a little over a third of an acre.

The model I have has the adjustable to chute, to vary to amount of grass going into the bag, if you want to bag some or all of the clippings.

Rob

Back in 1979 my Dad bought a commercial, 20" HONDA walk behind, bagger. He used it for years.

He passed in 1999 and a few years later brought it back with me to Montana, a keep sake as my Dad always raved about it.

Had the carb rebuilt a few yrs back and that's been it. I like using it to cut the lawn around the house as it bags and cleans the grass up nicely.

In 2017 we had one of the longest and harshest winter here in many years. The mower sat in the shed from October to April. I went in, end of April....it started the FIRST try!

I am SOLD on Honda's.
