It’s looking highly likely that I’ll be trading a friend of mine one of my ATVs for a naked 2000 Kawasaki Zephyr 700cc I believe. I don’t have all the details yet but apparently it’s a rather rare naked version that was imported for only one year.

Anyone here ever owned one of these bikes? Any issues I should be wary of? In my research so far they appear to be fairly solid, good looking machines.

I know nothing about this Zephyr, but by the pics it looks a LOT like the Yamaha Radian (YX600) I had a bunch of years ago. Cool

God bless America.

I love nostalgia and that bike looks really cool. Never had one so can't comment on owning it, but looking forward to your review of it once you get it. And if I get my way one day, I'll own one of these from the same era.

Ok so it’s a blue 2000 Kawasaki Zephyr ZR-7.

It apparently spent most of its life in a garage and has extremely low miles.

Still awaiting pics and more info but it should look like this. Definitely a sweet UJM and not one you see every day. Kinda looks like my CB-1. Big Grin The styling looks almost identical to the Honda CB400’s in Japan that came after my CB-1. I absolutely adore those machines!

Yeah. I decided to do the trade. I’ll bring it home in early July. It’s kinda funny how this deal transpired. I was texting an old friend about MotoGP and my stupid phone autocorrected something I typed to “ATV” which started a conversation on ATVs. Long story short I’m trading a Raptor 80 for a Zephyr. My friend adores anything with a tiny engine that he can thrash around his yard and enjoy when he hosts parties. Both machines need some TLC it’s a win-win and fair trade as far as I’m concerned

I saw a beautiful Honda CBX 1000 Super Sport at a coffee shop this morning.

Looks like a nice bike.
750cc inline-4 should be fun. Guessing this was a strong Honda Nighthawk CB750 competitor?

I had a 2000 ZR-7 and it was a lot of fun. Zephyr is not part of the official model name though. The Zephyrs are a little more retro looking and were a prior Kawasaki model. A nice riding bike with a comfortable more upright riding position and a pretty large fuel tank capacity which is great for range, just be careful when it is full as the full tank does tend to make it a little top heavy in low speed maneuvers and if you have to push it on and off a trailer or into tight spaces or something like that. You can get windshields, fairings and such but I kept mine all stock and enjoyed it. Ended up trading it in on a Yamaha V-Star Custom as I ended up wanting more of a cruiser afterwards but overall a great naked sport bike that was enjoyable.
