I am sure this phrase has been around since before the forum existed. I found it here, but, have adhered to it since I was a teenager:

I have always been under the impression that you get what you pay for, to an extent. Most of the times, it is true.

Rephrased, The Peter Principle-- A good worker will continue to be advanced till he reaches his point of no-can-do. Then he becomes a blockage to the flow of the office till he is promoted sideways.


Do not necessarily attribute someone's nasty or inappropriate actions as intended when it may be explained by ignorance or stupidity.
