Green HighlanderWhat can you tell me about Haslet TX?
My nephew and his fiancé are looking at a place in Haslet. They are good kids, hard working and in their very early 20’s but a bit naive. Currently they are living in Colorado but relocating will be better for her job.
I don’t think they know much about Haslet. I believe the primary focus has been finding a place with affordable rent.
Is this a safe area? Anything else you think they should know or take into consideration?
Thanks in advance.

OKCGeneMight be a bit noisy with Alliance Airport there.
Some longtime friends lived very close to Haslet but they recently sold their house and moved to a small town much quieter and slower paced named Paradise TX. Paradise is not too far away.

dfwglockguyIn general Haslet is a good area. Like so much of the NTX region it has grown like crazy over the past several years. Traffic is probably the worst thing in and around Haslet. The roads and schools have not kept up with the growth.
I would suggest they visit the area and drive around during the time of day they would be going to/from work.

Ox190Haslet is nice but depending on where her job is, it may be quite a commute.

NavyGuyHazlet is a nice little town. Low taxes as Texas goes and reasonable home prices. It's flat lands with little look-out the window beauty but does have Texas charm. It is right on the edge of the expansion boom we're seeing in North East Tarrant county. So heavy commute traffic. With the expansion boom, along comes tons of retail and restaurant's mostly upper tier chains along the 35E corridor. Their are always lines.
Houses sell quickly there, so I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try. If and when they outgrow it, selling, most likely at a profit is pretty much assured.
