One of my wife's clients was contacted by one of these. We laughed. He knows it's some sort of scam but he hasn't yet figured out just what it is, so for now, he's sort of playing along without divulging any significant information, to see if he can figure out what "her" ploy is.

I use an online password manager. My "master" password is a 20-digit string of gibberish that I have memorized.
For non-critical websites, I use a routine password system I have memorized. But, for financial and other important sites, I use a 24 random character password generated by the password manager and 2FA.
It can be a PITA, but it was a life-saver when some leftist dirtbags tried to hack my bank accounts after I gave them a hard time on Twitter back during the BLM riots.
