Buffalo is one of the main reasons I take 80 through PA instead of 90 through NY when traveling from IN to MA.

Commentary is pretty good. As the semi was stuck and rocking back and forth to get out, he says he is not having a party in the truck as the truck rocked back and forth.

I mean, like, man I dig your beat.

{snapsnap snapsnap}

I think you should call that one "Rocking back and forth"

or maybe "The Purple Tones of Winter"

I've often said that you don't know snow until you've experienced an upstate New York winter or two. Them lake effect dumps can be downright biblical.

Everyone else measures snow in inches. They measure it in feet.

I just finished round 2 of snowblowing. I'm close to 4 feet now by my best tired estimation.

I DON'T MISS IT AT ALL! I grew up just south of Syracuse, we rarely got lake effect snow but we got plenty of "regular" snow.

I sometimes get asked "How can you take the winters in Iowa?" I reply "I grew up near Syracuse, these winters are NOTHING."

Lake effect snow. I would drive from Chicago on the Indiana Toll Road to South Bend, Indiana. Light flurries when I left Chicago, total whiteout outside of South Bend. That long fetch over Lake Michigan really dumped the snow on South Bend.

I lived in the Upper Midwest 27 winters, Alaska 5 winters, and Alberta Canada 2 winters. I much prefer Texas' "winter" and don't miss real winter at all.

Well, that sucks. I was actually going to pay if necessary to watch that game in a blizzard. It’d have been one for the ages!

As luck would have it, I’m in Buffalo on a work trip with a group of co-workers from Phoenix. Fortunately we’re up near the airport, which has not been hit particularly hard at this point. Maybe six inches total? Unfortunately, the facility we’re supposed to work at is closed due to the county travel restrictions. Hopefully we’ll be able to fly out on Wednesday as currently planned.

When I lived there , (near Orchard park), back in the 70's, they would hire any one they could find to clear snow from the stadium.
It hold around 80k people, lots of seats to brush off, then shovel down the rows to the horizontal steps. They would put plastic on the steps and let the the snow slide to the stadium floor and haul it away with large loaders.

Lots of good memories back then 10 bucs an hour was a lot of money for a teenager back then.

It may be fun to watch snow games on tv, but they kind of suck live Smile

Disappointing. I remember watching many NFL games in Chicago and Green Bay. They paid good money to clear the bleachers of snow. I still dislike indoor football.
