I understand the need to escape. I did so in the early 90s from Kalifornia. I have made my and my family's home here in CO, and have no intention of leaving. Yes, my little rural homestead has no where near the power of the big blue cities, but I will continue to do my part, voting red when I can.

It is disappointing to see this happen to Colorado, but, rest assured, it is coming to you soon, no matter where you live. Keep fighting, it's all you can do.

Colorado has its problems, but this isn't really one of them in 99% of the state.

And I'm not going anywhere, not do I let what Denver does bother me.

While I haven't seen human feces on a Colorado sidewalk I have seen it in Colorado parking garages...repeatedly...as in weekly...along with the drunk club-goers returning to their parked cars, the homeless use CO parking garages to do everything from shoot-up drugs to vomit to have sex in...and yes, to pass out and sleep in...all caught on surveillance video. Feces, used drug needles, vomit, disposed food remnants...weekly, often daily problems, to be dealt with by parking garage staff. I once watched a surveillance video in which 2 guys, returning to their parked car after the clubs closed, were walking up a stair well...right into a stream of liquid hitting them both as they turned the corner...they seemed to react as though it was water...but what they didn't realize was that one floor above them someone had just urinated and the stream was flowing down the stairwell from the ceiling...

Weekly, often daily.

The problem may not be as blatant as San Francisco, yet, but make no mistake, it is happening.

I've probably been out at night in Denver and the whole of Colorado more times than everyone in this thread combined, Boulder, Five Points, LoDo, FoCo, Wrongmont, Aurora, Red Rocks, every damn where, going to concerts and parties and the like, sometimes in predominantly minority areas or HipHop shows, and I have *never* seen anything more than the same minor drunken stuff you'd see in any sizeable city or college town.

And I've spent tons of time in LA, Dallas, SF, Atlanta, New Orleans, NYC, DC, PHX, etc.

Again, I've no doubt it happens sometimes. And I've no doubt things may be getting a little worse everywhere, with population growth, but the rest seems grossly overstated.

My partying days are pretty much behind me now, but in my younger years I spent a good bit of time in the same party environment as you...and saw my share of the club-goers urinating, vomiting, having sex, and passing out...but I never saw anyone defecating in public (whether a sidewalk or a garage)... but the CO homeless numbers have jumped to the point where something that wasn't a problem before is at least becoming a problem in parking garages now...and I'm betting that it will be a "public sidewalk" problem in the future. I don't believe that CO has a better class of homeless than San Francisco.
