I bought some ground turkey for a change as I'm trying to cut calories and work out more in the hope of losing some weight. Anyone got any good (maybe spicy) recipes that include ground Turkey? Thanks in advance for any contributions. Smile

I use it for taco meat when I need a break from beef and bison. Truth be told, I think I like the Turkey the best.

We make this Barefoot Contessa turkey meatloaf and love it. However, we cut the recipe in half using 2 1/2 lbs ground turkey (and same 1/2 for rest of the ingredients.

I make some Thai dishes that work well with ground turkey. One is drunken noodles.

Almost any stir fry in which you would put chicken is also good with ground turkey.

I think it is bland, so cook it in something with a flavorful sauce or spices to give it some taste.

I take the ground turkey, open container, mix in with Jimmy Deans Sausage and good prime ground beef, seems to fix the taste issue Big Grin

Imagine you could use just any recipe like you would for ground beef, turkey tends to be lean, so you'd treat it like ground sirloin vs ground chuck.

Add in things that add moisture, eggs are a good binder with crushed crackers in burger or meatloaf mixes,

Have you ever had P.F. Chang’s lettuce wraps? They are great and you can use ground turkey; I think original recipe is ground chicken but same thing. I have the recipe for them if you would like.

Wife likes turkey instead of beef for burgers, when she is on a diet.

The only way I tolerate it that way is if I top it off with salsa and sometimes a hot sauce.

I don’t have any food recipes but I use turkey in place of beef for tacos and sometimes even burgers. I mix in a ton of Worcestershire sauce before I cook the meat to keep it moist. Then i season it as I would beef.

Fry or broil five pounds of premium thick cut bacon.

Lift from rendered fat and allow it to drip and cool on a paper towel.

Throw ground turkey into the dog's bowl.

Eat the bacon.

Same here. Works great in Tacos or burritos.

After you heat it dice up some green chilis, white onion and Dice up cabbage so that it is pretty small. You can salt and pepper it and cook with a little chicken bone broth to give it moisture. I put that on jasmine rice and it is pretty decent. Spices are extremely good for you so you can add a touch of cumin and mexican oregano. Oh, forgot the garlic, good amount of fresh garlic is always good.

I've been doing the same for the last 5-years, best part is not having to deal with all the excess fat. Substitute turkey for beef, play around and create your own spice blend, nobody will know the difference.

I really like this. One of the few WW recipes I thought was really good.

WEIGHT WATCHERS TURKEY STUFFING
LOAF
1 tbsp. + 1 tsp. butter
2 sm. Granny Smith apples, core, pare and dice them
1/2 c. each shredded carrot, diced onion, celery and green pepper
13 oz. ground turkey
4 slices white bread, in cubes
1/2 c. plain low-fat yogurt
2 beaten eggs
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/4 tsp. salt
Preheat oven 375. In an 8 inch skillet, heat butter until bubbly and hot; add apples and vegetables and saute, stirring constantly until apples are soft. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
Spray 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with non-stick spray and transfer turkey mixture to pan; smooth top and bake until set, 35 to 40 minutes. (Center should be firm.) Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes.
