Anyone unfamiliar with Maj Fairbairn, he was the, Assistant Commissioner of the Shanghi Municipal Police. He trained every unit the US Marine corp had in China between 1927 and 1940. This book was also approved as the "standard instruction manual of hand to hand combat" for His Majesties commandos and paratroops. (Illustration are excellent.)

I have copies of that series of books, so do not enter me, but it is well worth the read. I first ran across it in the post library at an overseas Army base. It was an eye-opener for an impressionable teenager.
