There seems to be a wealth of military related knowledge here, so im gonna give this a shot.

A friend has a small trailer he's telling me is military surplus. Judging from what I'm hearing, it's probably Korean war vintage and was described as an artillery trailer. Purchased sometime after Vietnam. There is no informstion plate I can find. It's single wheel, has a single axle for each side that rides in a metal housing mounted under the trailer. Axle is maybe 12-14 inches long, 2 inch diameter. Has a 10-inch diameter rim with a wide single tire almost like the back of a medium size lawn tractor with bar tread. I believe there is a metal bar that comes around the outside of the wheel to support the other end of the axle, but it's currently disassembled waiting for parts so I can't say for sure. No idea on the original bed. It's about 8-10' long, maybe 4-5' wide. Has no brakes as it is.

Looking for replacement axle seals and wheel bearings.

Can't really tell from the vague description... Are you talking about the M3A4 utility cart?

That the only thing that comes to mind from that era with what I think you're describing of the small wheels and individual axles. But its dimensions are a little smaller than what you posted, at ~5.5 feet long and ~3 feet wide.

Is that the same one I saw on Pawn Stars? Them things are worth some bucks. Maybe that resto guy can help with parts.

Yeah, that is definitely smaller than what I'm trying to id. I guessed 8 feet for the bed, cargo area, not overall. His is significantly heavier and has a regular trailer ball hitch as well, not the equipment style loop hitch on the one pictured. And has smaller, significantly wider rims and tires. Its built heavy enough he's intending to use it to haul a small skid steer. If I can get to his house this weekend I'll try to post a picture.

Are you talking about a Gama Goat trailer?. The wheel dimensions don't match up with what you're describing, but it's all I've got.

The Gamma Goat was a 6-wheel drive vehicle and the 'trailer' was the cargo section and part of the extended drive train. It was also a very loud vehicle and the driver and assistant had to wear hearing protection. That was my assigned vehicle as XO of a 155mm battalion and I hated it! It was a real maintenance nightmare and I was glad when the Army got rid of them.

We used one as an "ambulance" in my Guard unit.

Is it possible that the ball hitch is an aftermarket modification? Lots of people get surplus trailers and switch out the ring, and many trailers have companies that make conversions that are nice enough that they look like they came on there.

If you had a good driver who kept up with its maintenance, it wasn't too bad.

No, not a gamma goat or the jeep style trailer that the overland guys really like. It sits much lower to the ground than anything else I've seen when I goolge army trailers.
l hitch being aftermarket is a definite possibility. Original owner would have had no use for the ring hitch.
Honestly, I first saw it and thought of the little army utility vehicle that was basically a powered flatbed. I think they called it a mule?

There were NO trailers built specifically for the Mule (M274). There was an attachment to connect to the steering gear and to a 1/4 ton (jeep) to tow the Mule The mule was handy at the FARP for moving ammo for attack helicopter rearming.

When you said "artillery Trailer", I immediately thought of this one (I had a bunch in my unit with the 6th ACR, in 1968). But your 'single wheel' rules this one out.
