bryan11Multifocal contact lenses?
Monovision sounds worth investigating. Thanks for bringing those to our attention.

comet24Give them a try and see what you think. I have had them for two years now. Results have varied. When I first got them my eye doc gave me two brands to try and we also tried different prescriptions.
They worked better at first but have gotten harder to use but my reading vision to still changing. My eye doc said my reading would continue to get slightly worse for a few years until it stabilized.
After the first year, we changed to prescription slightly as my eyesight was changing. I think I'm at that point again. They have different "adds" just like reading glasses. The problem is as you increase the power for the reading part it affects the distance part of your sight. Currently, I have a low add in one eye and a mid add in the other for reading. I have a better distance with the low add as the reading part affects the distance less. They can also play with the distance part. With contacts since both near and distance are built into the entire lens, they affect each other. You have to find what works best for you. I've found it's a give and takes and nothing is great when you get to this point with your eyesight.
Talk to your eye doc. Try a few options. They should be willing to let you try different sets since they get them free. I have worn contacts for over 20 years when I started needing this style.

BeancookerComet, I’m wearing monovision. A different prescription for each eye. Dominat eye is distance and non dominant has the reader lens.
I started the thread about multifocal, but decided to try out monovision as the results I heard for the multifocal weren’t that great.

RightwireSee the most recent post I made in the other cataract thread... likely not really for you unless your close to or over 70. If your eyes can still focus moderately well, you should stay with standard lenses.
That according to my surgeon who is in private practice but a teaching surgeon affiliated with a major university and has a staff of residents and interns.

True on the Toric, that's what I had to allow the lens to sit properly.
Gonna have to check my iSpelling correction Lasik not Lasix, then again, maybe some Lasix would help with the vision...

At -10.5, in both eyes, she said I was on the 'no' side of borderline for cornea thickness.
Considering ICL instead.
Too bad, sorry to hear that, hopefully you end up with a good solution.
