911BossImpulse purchase of the day...Hybrid tech/old-school notebook/pad - “ROCKETBOOK”
This is awesome!
I am at that point in life where I write myself about 3-4 notes a day of shit I will forget without a note or have several different lists of “To do’s” or projects. Keeping track of them is sometimes a chore.
Some stuff I’ll put in my phone or iPad, but a lot of times pen and paper is just easier. I have iPads that are compatible with Apple Pencil, but as good as Apple is, it doesn’t recreate the “feel” of pen and paper and can be frustrating.
Surfing Amazon today I came across this product that is the best of both. Write on it, scan to app and save locally, send to email, to someone via text, Dropbox, Evernote, and more. Saves/sends as PDF or jpg. You set up 5-6 “destinations” and mark an icon at the bottom of the page and it sends it off with just a touch.
Also has OCR built in that does a pretty good job and delivers editable text via email if you wish
App is free, pages are a durable/reusable material. Ink dries pretty quick, is erasable with the other end of pen or page is wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Pads come in three sizes and have a variety of page styles to choose from. Pens are made by Pilot and are about the same price as other pens. Pens will work on regular paper as well.
Notebooks are a bit pricey ($15 for notepad, $25 for 6”x8.5”, $30 for letter), but it is one time cost, free app, and reusable indefinitely unless you abuse it. Ordered this morning and had same day delivery with Prime.
Probably not for everyone but it fills a niche for me and should help me stay a little more organized.

AeteoclesTemplates for the pages are free to download and print.
I print a few pages, take notes on them, then scan and shred the pages. It's not quite as eco friendly...

ArtieSThat's really cool. I need to figure out how I can use this and what size I need.

ffipsI downloaded some pages. Initial testing looks promising. I "extended" a page by folding the bottom behind and then laying it on top of another. It worked. This means, in theory, one could design templates within a border and use them.
The beacons for whiteboards looks to be potentially useful too.
For those curious about it, snag some free download pages feom their site and try it out.
I am attempting to use this for data entry. The OCR seems promising.
