V-Tail45 Year Anniversary
I have been wed to the Lovely Lynda Lee for 45 years, as of today.
Second marriage for each of us; we did not want to make a big deal of the wedding, did not feel the need to impress anybody, so we both left work at our respective jobs at noon on Friday, May 18, 1979 and went to Chicago City Hall with a couple of friends for witnesses, where a judge made it legal.
Wedding dinner was cassoulet at L'Escargot on North Halstead, for us and a few friends. Dinner was great. Restaurant burned down two days later, but unfortunately my American Express payment for the dinner had already been processed before the fire.

That's a bad omen! It'll never work!

Seriously, congratulations on marrying the right one.

Rey HRH45 years is quite a stretch. Congratulations.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
