We have never been there. We are meeting my sisters (we are late 50s and early 60s)for a family vacation. We are staying two or three days and I would like a few suggestions on sights to see. We live a thousand miles apart and do this vacation thing once a year. Thanks!

I've never been there, but the Internet is your friend:
https://www.visitnatchez.org/
https://www.southernliving.com...-natchez-mississippi
https://www.tripadvisor.com/At...hez_Mississippi.html (one of those choices is the St. Mary Basilica, which would be one of my top items)

That should get you started, at least.

If by chance you find your self on the Natchez Trace beware of deer, several per mile when we went through around dusk. Had to slow to nearly a crawl when dark and foggy to be safe.

And the speed limit. Federal highway with fed speed enforcement.

The Windsor Ruins are worth seeing- standing columns are the only thing remaining of a plantation home. Nothing to do there but see the ruins, but it was very interesting and a surreal experience for me. It’s close to an hour drive from Natchez. But, I’d drive that way anyway just to have lunch at The Old Country Store in Lorman, about 35 miles from Natchez. They have the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. National food writers have said it’s the best. But, I would ask if the owner will be there. Better food and better experience when he is there.

Emerald Mound is along the route as well, and is worth seeing. Neither of these are major destinations, so I don’t want you to get the wrong impression. You’ll drive up, walk around and take pictures for 20 minutes, and that’s about it. But they are worth seeing.

This is north of Natchez, so you might be able to stop on your drive to or from home depending on how you’re getting there. But it’s worth the drive from Natchez just for the chicken.
