Mike S Adams was found dead in his home 2 days ago from what appears to be suicide.

I always enjoyed his Town Hall columns. He was apparently the only conservative at UNCW, University of North Carolina Wilmington. His columns were a delight to me as he skewered the liberals and incompetent buffons in higher education.

He gave them all hell when would not toe the liberal college professors line. He was denied tenure, filed a lawsuit and won. He was awarded back pay, legal fees and became a full Professor.

He tweeted something not too long ago that really turned into a nasty situation. The next thing I knew he announced he was retiring at the age of 55 from the university with a nice financial package. He was just a week from retiring.

According to some of the stories I read he had been acting very erratically lately, according to his friends.

It's a shame, he was a good writer and a good guy conservative swimming against the tide at a university filled with hostile liberals who wanted no more than to see him fired, humiliated and destroyed.

RIP, Mr Adams, you will be missed.

Here is just one story, there are many others LINK

Cause of death is yet to be publicized, but he was scheduled to receive another $500,000 payment from the school to retire August 1, 2020. Less than a week from now.

It’ll be interesting to follow this story.

Are you implying he was murdered?

I graduated from UNCW. Same program Dr. Adams was in.

My contacts down there say it’s suicide.

Very sad to hear.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

I used to really enjoy his columns. It's been a few years since I've kept up with him, but I'm bummed to see this news.

As I have no direct knowledge of the case, nor is there public disseminated information available, I’m curious the cause of death, but not implying any, nor any motive - simply stating a fact. I have followed the exploits of the man and the institution involved for several years now and was simply relaying information not provided in the OP’s original link. This link provides more details than the original link including the agreed to early retirement settlement.

He killed himself. Stop trying to make a conspiracy out of a suicide. That's exactly what you are doing when you interject that he was about to be paid a mountain of money by his former employer. You know it and I know it, and you know better than to post stuff like that in this forum.

No one but the deceased or God can say for sure how he died. I for one don't believe what 'the authorities' say about issues & cases etc.like I did when I was younger.

Wish I could believe with certainty what authorities say.

I'm very sad that Mike has died. I read his columns for years. He could swing from eloquent to funny to viciously acerbic in the same paragraph. He was a gun guy. He did a lot to protect free speech on college campuses, for professors and students. I'll miss reading what he has to say.

I was greatly saddened to see that he had died. I have been reading his columns on the Town Hall site for at least 15 years or more. He was a true warrior for conservative and Christian principles. It must take a very strong individual to be the lone voice for reason in the sea of academia, and he did it for a very long time. He did it well, and he did it in a very unique and entertaining style.

Years ago he came to Kalamazoo College and gave a great talk. There were, of course, some of the lib professors from the college that tried to get smug with him during the question and answer period afterward. I was so glad to have a front row seat for the verbal whooping that he laid down on them. We were just about rolling in the isle. He was so intelligent and quick witted, and he of course had the truth on his side. I almost felt bad for the lib professors....almost.

Who out there has the strength , the skills, and the iron will to fill his shoes? We need it now more than ever.

Here is a link confirming Mike's suicide. The only thing "vile" about this entire affair is the Left celebrating this outcome. As if there isn't enough to be furious about these days.....

https://patriotpost.us/article...s-suicide-2020-07-28

From the article:

"Those of us who dare challenge the Left know how vengeful the radicals can be. As Mark Steyn lamented, “If you’re doing the heavy lifting on an otherwise abandoned front of the culture war, what you mostly hear, as Mike Adams did, is the silent majority’s silence.” Thus, we know that the will to fight can sometimes leave even the toughest and, in Adams’s case, the seemingly happiest warrior."
