The 'Brady Bunch' house is for sale for just under $2 million

Here's your chance to own the home of Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. Or Jan, Cindy, Greg, Peter or Bobby for that matter.

The Los Angeles home that was featured on the television series "The Brady Bunch" is on the market for $1.885 million. The three bedroom, three bathroom house sits at 11222 Dilling St. in North Hollywood and offers 2,477 square feet, according to its listing on Zillow. Per the property's description, it rests on a lot of more than 12,500 square feet which includes "lush backyard gardens" and two master suites. "Whether inspired by the TV family or the real life surrounding neighborhood, this residence is a perfect postcard of American 70's style and its special culture," the listing promises.

The half-hour sitcom created by Sherwood Schwartz revolved around mom Carol Brady (Florence Henderson), her husband, Mike Brady (Robert Reed), and their blended family of six children.

Pictures of the home, constructed in 1959 according to the listing, show it has maintained its vintage aesthetic, though not the one featured on the show as the series was filmed in studio. Wide wood paneling adorns the walls of a room in the listed property featuring a piano and a stone-covered fireplace.

Listing agent Ernie Carswell told the Los Angeles Times he's ready for the property to garner high interest. "We’re preparing for an avalanche," he said. Carswell also told the outlet the buyers looking to maintain the home will have first consideration.

“We’re not going to accept the first big offer from a developer who wants to tear it down,” Carswell told the L.A. Times. “We’re going to wait a few days, in case there are others who want to purchase it as an investment to preserve it.”

That would most certainly be a story of a lovely real estate transaction for "Brady Bunch" fans.

Had her on one of my flights a few years ago. I didn't talk to her when we got back to Houston, but she was very nice. Seems she's held up well after all the rehab she's been through, but I can only imagine the hot mess she is emotionally. Eek

The article said they're trying not to let that happen.

I looked at zillow and it's hard to believe the appraised value of like 1/10 of the list price / market priace and the property taxes that are only $2200ish. Those taxes are less than my home here in CO, and we have very low property taxes. Seems like someone is in bed with the county appraiser.

Because of Prop 13. Not knowing anything about the owners, they have probably lived there for decades, paying out the old tax rate.

I was so torn between her and Laurie Partridge (Susan Dey) on "The Partridge Family" back in Jr. High.

It's like that entire house was trapped in a 1970s time bubble. Such horrible interior decor and furniture by today's standards.

I like the back yard. I'll be interested in what they replace it with, or even better if they keep the shell and gut the entire inside. I'd watch whatever reality TV show that would be.

TD - That was the exact reaction I had when I saw that.

Thanks. Learned something new today. I figured there must be something unique going on since our appraisals are every two years regardless of sale.
