Would not that reality be present now, after the election? It's certainly constitutionally uncharted waters, but I would assume that if The Donald were to get whacked prior to 1/20, Vance would then be the President-elect and assume office. Could be wrong though. I don't know how that works. Either way, I think that they are equally despised by the left and that their policies would not differ substantially.

I'm with you in this vigil. But even around the election, I did check who becomes president if the president elect dies before taking the oath of office, apparently, it would be the vice-president elect.

One would think. But the waters get muddied if it were to happen before or after the Electoral College votes, and before or after Congress approves that vote. You can bet that the left would turn it into a Mongolian cluster fuck regardless of how cut and dried it seems.
