We have a year round nest of Cardinals in a corner of our yard, nesting in some Lady Palms. The palms are about to be removed as we redo our back yard, not that I want to disturb the birds, but such is life.
Is this hatching season? I will gladly wait a couple of weeks if necessary to get that part of the yard done.

Based on recommendations of local Florida wildlife biologists we do not do prescribed burns during March, April, and May due to it being nesting season. Based upon the large number of Cardinals we see around our place in March and April, I believe they follow that pattern.
HayesGreener, what kind of shrubs or plants do you have that keep those cardinals around? I have a couple of nesting pairs that nest in my azaleas but I'd love to plant something that they can feed on.
