This might be my most favorite 7 mins of FNC ever: Dreyfuss talks sanctuary cities ruling, importance of civics, the preamble of the Constitution.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

Didn't expect that coming from a Hollywood personality.

Saw that segment last night, too, and was pleasantly surprised! As was Tucker, it appears.

Watching Mr. Dreyfuss here reminds me of watching Mark Levin except Mark is a little more squared away with principle.

I watch this segment, and was REALLY surprised and pleasantly so. That was not at all what I was braced to hear coming out of Looneywood.

Great interview.... went to his site and signed up as well. As an old retiree I found his civics comments spot on!

As an aside I've tried to watch Tucker but the talking over and interruptions are simply too jarring and distracting to listen to.

Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club!

I was ready to groan and roll my eyes-- "Hollywood!-- but I was very pleasantly surprised. I signed up on his site.

Very impressed. Than you for sharing. Just thought he was an actor. I will have to look into this more.

My opinion of Richard Dreyfus went way up when I first heard excerpts of this:

Wow, very impressed with Mr. Dreyfuss. And a sincere thank you to him for taking the time, and more especially having the desire, to speak about this.

It's extremely refreshing, almost intoxicating, to hear anyone speak that way isn't it? Most especially when it's from an actor since we so rarely see any kind of grounded speech at all from that segment of society.

Richard Dreyfuss, who'da thunk it?

I actually remember him saying similar things years ago on I think Bill Mahers show about the death of civics in the US and the repercussions of an uninformed populace.

Fifty years ago I had dreams of becoming a civics teacher. It didn't turn out and I am glad, but I have tried to "teach" civics and history every day since.

Well, he's wrong about one thing. I had civics in 1980. It was required for graduation. Other than that though, yeah... great segment and I was really impressed with his take on things.

I've seen him several other times being interviewed on FNC (O'Reilly as I recall) and he wasn't nearly as squared away as he was here. It's refreshing to see that perhaps leftists are coming around to reality.
