Needing to get a new iPhone. I currently have the 6SPlus. Is there one model I should or should not choose? Thanks.
I dropped mine and shattered the screen. This message has been edited. Last edited by: techguy,

I have an iPhone X and love it. Great battery life and no issues after 18 months.

iPhone XR has a similar sized screen and absolutely stellar battery life. If I didn’t prefer the more pocketable models, that’s the one I’d go for.

The XR will be comparable in size to the 6S Plus and, of course, better in every way in performance. I will caution that Apple will be releasing a new iPhone later this year. If it's possible to wait, you'll be able to see what the new one is like and be able to choose the XR for a lower price than what you'd pay right now.

I have an X that I've been happy with. I tend to keep iPhones for a few years, last one was a 6 before the X.
I didn't think I'd like the face recognition, but I do.
The Plus and XR are too big for my needs.
I've been using Rokform rugged case for several years and love them.

I was looking at swapping out my old iPhone6s for a newer model, as the battery just went belly up. I posted a rant here about the plethora of phones available and that none of them met my needs.
Turns out a $65 battery replacement was all I needed. I plan to hold on to this one until a) a phone is released that I can't resist, or b) this one completely dies/is destroyed.

What is your budget?
You could spend $50 and have Apple replace the battery in your current phone, You could spend $1,500 and get an iPhone XS Max with 512 GB of storage.
Really need to know more about your requirements, desires and budget to really help you.

Why do you "need" a new one?
Not being a smartass here, I'm asking a real question. Wife and I both have the generation before yours. Got new batteries installed couple months ago at The Apple Store, not at all expensive, and we expect to be good for several more years.

Wife and I both moved from 7s to the Xs Max in December. Been very happy with the change. I was tired of the small screen and my 7 seemed to struggle with battery life. I feel like this was actually a real upgrade this time.

I'm sort of in the same boat; have a 6 that is getting long in the tooth and plan to replace with an XR this summer.
It's basically the same size as the 6, but has a screen size more like the 6 Plus due to it being edge-to-edge (no bezel).

I got an XR about a month ago. I love the battery life on it compared to the old 6 I had.

I am very pleased with both the X and the XR. Don't think you would be disappointed with either.

After taking a look at the Xs and XR tech specs, not only do the new devices include more bands, one of them is new to iPhones this year that can offer T-Mobile users better coverage.
For the first time, the iPhone has gained LTE band 71 with the Xs and XR. Band 71 operates on the 600MHz spectrum that T-Mobile has acquired.
I wouldn't mind the increased real screen real estate, either

Skip the 7. I guess there are some board issues that can cause a dead phone. The Tim Cook Apple isn't in a real hurry about them.
The Xr is OK, you'll miss the screen of the 6s. The Xs is just too freaking expensive. If you like the touch feature, the 8. If you want facial recognition, the Xr with a trade to Apple for the 6s. The trade in deal, if it's still going, is pretty good.

I'm not sure I'm following what you are trying to say here. Is the 6s screen actually better than the screen on the XR?

I have had an Apple XS since it first came out and have been very happy with it, it's battery life, and durability.

This^^^I got the X and got the wife an 8. Absolutely wish we would have gotten her the X also. X is really easy to use and facial recognition is great feature.
