FenderBenderNo slots for any kind of chip. And its got fingerprint sensor and face unlock. No need for a pin.

DanHShe'll still need a backup pin for Face ID, and that 4 digit pin would still work.

What model? I am not aware of any iPhone that has both Face ID and fingerprint sensor. I'm pretty sure that it's one or the other, but never both.

The face ID is pretty slick and fast! Why is she opposed to it, if I may ask?

You do not need to enable these features (although I find that Face ID is great). Your other questions:
4-digit PIN? Yes, it's there. The default when you set up a new iPhone is six digits, but you can select the option for four deigits.
Physical SIM card: The iPhone 13 is the last one that has a slot for this. Later models that are sold in the U.S. are e-SIM only, but iPhones that are sold in some other countries still have the tray for physical SIM cards.

I don’t use either, but that means there’s no security preventing someone from accessing the phone.

Only if you don't program a PIN.
Still wondering why she's against Face ID as her face is only stored on the phone and not shared with Apple or anyone else.

architectI use FaceID on both my iPhone 10X and iPad (considerably newer). It is convenient and fast. I can enter a PIN for access (4 digit on phone and 6 digit on tablet), and disable FaceID on an app-by-app basis or globally, it then uses the PIN.
The only downside I see to FaceID is that someone who wants to access your phone can do so relatively easily without your consent. Of course this applies to any method of authentication when under threat of imminent physical harm.
FaceID has replaced fingerprint in currently-available mobile phone models from Apple.

snwghstit will default to a 6 digit pin (if setting up as new phone), touch underneath and you have the ability to only have 4
if she is transferring data from the latest setting and backup, all of her previous preferences will remain the same
there are no SIM cards any longer

That is true for iPhones that are sold in the U.S., but iPhones, including the current iPhone 16, that are made to be sold in some (many!) other countries still have the SIM card trays.

SpeedbirdI am almost positive, once you put anything financial on an iPhone, like Wallet, ApplePay or even a banking app it forces you to use a pin. (I was opposed at first, but these features are very handy. Don't forget airline boarding passes)
Do you do any work stuff on your [personal] phone? My company is pretty high-tech / sneaky, they also force a pin once you add an Outlook/Teams account to your phone.

911BossI’ll echo what others have said, no more physical sim but very simple matter to convert current line to the e-sim by contacting carrier.
Also as others have said, Face-ID is optional, can continue to use 4 digit pin or stronger password options to unlock.

No, this is not correct. Agree, physical SIM has been discontinued for iPhones that are sold in the U.S., but the physical SIM tray is still provided on iPhones sold in other countries. OP is in Argentina.

911BossYes, in US - I didn’t catch OP’s location.
A quick check though shows all three Argentina carriers (Claro, Movistar, Personal) have both sim and eSIM capability.
