FredwardMetformin Recall
Anyone take metformin? It's just been recalled, my pharmacy called today. My endocrinologist finally scheduled a visit to make up for the one I couldn't go to April 29. It's July 29. Hopefully, I have enough metformin to last until then, and there's a good substitute. I've been taking it 23 years. If it was going to kill me, it likely would have by now.

apf383Thanks for the heads up! I take 500mg 2x. Per the article:
ā The medication was sold nationwide to wholesalers, distributors, retailers, and repackagers and was manufactured by Amneal.ā
Luckily my manufacturer is Zydus Pharm. Check you labels guys, mine listed the manufacturer.

rburgYou can keep the stuff. Gave me the shits. For a few years. I hated it until the doc sold me Wellcall. After that, no shit. Or only once a day. That was good, except the cost. But even high cost is better than shitting all the time. It was a bad drug.

AKSuperDuallyMy VA nurse "PCM" had me on it. I gave it 12 months. The numbers didn't change. Quit taking it, along with all the other drugs. I feel much better now.

My fear is....yet. All of these formulations are from India. Hopefully, it is just this one company and its one formulation. Stayed tuned I suppose.

fpuhanI was prescribed the Extended Release 500x2 about a year ago. I get it from Walgreen's and there is no lot number or manufacturer information on it. How do I find out?

redstoneI take it 2x a day. If I do not my blood sugar is up by around 50 points. I am not sure how to look up the lot number on mine. Is this something my pharmacist must do?

clubleaf206Presently I have been taken off metformin (500 mg daily) until my next checkup in September. I have been keeping my A1C consistently at 6.0 and under and Iām wondering if my PCP is wanting to see if I can control my blood glucose strictly by diet and exercise.
