PalmInteresting article. So in SC the coroner has the power to declare a homicide to be justified? Is there any recourse beyond that if the police/prosecutor don't agree?
Obviously it was justified in this case, I'm just curious.

I'd assume that what the coroner says is just his (professional) opinion. Whether the DA or a grand jury chooses to go along with it or not is another matter.

I only ask because I live in a state where the killing of another human is classified as homicide, and the medical examiner would never be allowed to issue an official opinion on whether that homicide is justified.
If the corner does have that power in SC that is interesting.

AglifterTMK, the killing of another human being is always a homicide, as its pretty well the definition of it. Justifiable/manslaughter/murder/etc being variations on homicide.

According to court records, the victim's husband then came downstairs armed with a gun and shot White who was found dead in the front yard.
Not sure if room temperature is correct since he was in the front yard.
But the homeowner homicided the shit out of him.
