I have a 2014 ES350. As a matter of fact, bought it 4 years ago today. 84,000 miles almost exactly. It's been a solid car. Only 1 issue: the door lock actuators. Toyota seems to have a problem with them....called Toyota, they wanted about $750 apiece to repair. NAPA was around $450 (as I recall) for just the part. I got them for under $200 each from RockAuto and then Amazon; my buddy put them in. I think they have been replaced in new models. Insurance has been reasonable for full coverage through Allstate.

2003 G35 w/ about 180k miles and no problems yet.

2006 RX330 w/ about 190k and no problems yet ( did pay for timing belt stuff at 100k and there was a recall that replaced the dash).

1998 ES300 with 260K miles and going strong.

Love lexus and toyota stuff. Lasts forever.

My wife and I own a 2009 Infinity G37s straight drive, we bought it new and it has over 100k miles and has been trouble free. My wife even learned to drive the stick shift on it and the clutch is still going strong. It's a fun little car to drive as well.

Side note about Lexus, we bought a GX new in 2016 and it has also been trouble free only 28kish miles.

If it’s the RX about 16-17k (since I can sell my 96 Tacoma and haul a trailer behind it). 12-14 for an ES. I’m looking at a 2010 RX350 with 60000 miles today from an individual who bought it new. They are asking 16 but also say to make an offer so if it looks good I’ll offer 15 for it. All they can say is no.

I always buy Toyota. The only "bad" thing I've heard about Lexus is the cost to repair. Granted they almost never break, but when they do they will be more than average to repair.

I just paid off my 2012 G37 Sedan. It's been a great car. Only issues it's had have been fixed under warranty:
- Light ballast went out in headlight (would have been a pricey repair for a light)
- Electronic locks stripped in Driver Front & rear door.

My parents are still driving my wifes 99 RX300 we gave them several years ago after it came off lease.

Runs good with nothing more than simple maintenance items replaced north of 100K since they are in their 80's and don't drive much.

My LS400 and LX470 never had any issues, in fact that LX470 was exceptionally nice, should have kept it.

Had a 2003 LS430 for a year and a half with no issues. We got rear ended with my 15 year old driving. It was totaled.

Used the insurance to buy a 2004 with less miles. Both have been trouble free to date and excellent highway cars. My biggest reason for purchase was the great leg room in back.

2000-2006 are same gen models.

Best of luck~

I ask because you can get a 2011-2013 G37 with about 30-40k for about $14-15k

I too have had Infiniti G35, G37, G37X, and G37xS currently. Also Lexus RX (300 I believe).

Can't got wrong either way. Lexus rates as higher reliability. Infiniti was better price for performance, and my 2010 G37xS has given me 148k trouble-free miles.

I bought a 2010 RX350 back before Christmas 2016...great vehicle.

When I checked Consumer Reports it has the highest reliability of anything in it class.

Insurance went up compared to my 2006 Accord but that was to be expected.

Exactly what I’m buying, 2010 RX350 front wheel drive with 60000 and owned by an elderly lady that passed away (buying it from her son). Thanks everyone for the input.

Well said. And all I can think about is the damage caused by just a minor hit to the “hour glass”
